Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde; sayı, yüzde hesapları, ortalama ölçütleri, Kruskal Wallis Testi, Mann-Whitney U testi ve One Way ANOVA testi kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 20.78±1.19 olup, %87.3’ü kız ve %46.8’i düz lise mezunudur. Öğrencilerin Hemşirelikte Klinik Karar Verme Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 141.91±14.08’dir. Öğrencilerin klinik karar verme durumlarını, annenin çalışma durumu, bölüme isteyerek gelme, hemşirelik mesleğini sevme, mesleğe ilişkin olumlu düşüncenin olması, klinik uygulamada sorun yaşamama, teorik bilgiyi klinik uygulamada kullandığını düşünme gibi değişkenlerin etkilediği belirlenmiştir (p<0.05).Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucunda öğrencilerin klinik karar verme durumlarının iyi düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelikte farklı müfredat programında öğrenim gören öğrenciler ile çalışmanın daha geniş örneklemde tekrarlanması, öğrencilerin klinik karar verme düzeyinin eleştirel düşünme, problem çözme ve klinik öğrenme çevresi gibi değişkenler açısından araştırılması önerilmektedir.

Nurse Students’ Clinical Decision-Making Abilities Level and The Factors That Affect Abilities.

Yıl 2018, Cilt: 11 Sayı: 1, 41 - 47, 01.02.2018

Öz

Background: Clinical decision making is an integral part of nursing practice and however, studies exploring the factors that affect their
decision-making abilities are lacking. Objective: This study investigated nurse students’ clinical decision making abilities level and the
factors that affect these abilities. Methods: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 173 volunteer students who
participated in the research in second, third, and fourth grades of the Nursing Department of Health Sciences Faculty of a university.
Number, percentage calculations, mean measures, Kruskal Wallis Test and Mann-Whitney U test were used in the evaluation of the data.
Results: The average age of the students was 20.78 ± 1.19, 87.3% were girls and 46.8% were straight high school graduates. The total score
of the students was found as141.91 ± 14.08. It was determined that the variables such as the clinical decision making situation of the
students, the mother's working status, coming to the nursing department voluntarily, liking the nursing profession, having a positive opinion
about the occupation, problem life in clinical practice and thinking that the theoretical knowledge was used in clinical practice were affected
(p < .05). Conclusion: As a result of the research, it was determined that the clinical decision making status of the students was at a good
level. In nursing, it may be suggested that the study with the students studying in different curriculum should be repeated in the wider
sample, and the level of clinical decision making of the students should be investigated in terms of variables such as critical thinking,
problem solving and clinical learning environment.
