GEÇMİŞTE (1942) VE GÜNÜMÜZDE (2003) GÖREVE BAŞLAMIŞ SINIF ÖĞRETMENLERİNE GÖRE ÖĞRETMENLİK

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the thoughts of class teachers who started working in the past (1942) and present (2003) in accordance with teaching. This study was a qualitative one including a population of five class- teachers who started working between the years of 1940 and 1950 and are retired now, and five other class-teachers who have been working for at most five years. The data of the research was collected by using open-ended standardized interview form. The data was analyzed through content analysis by using NVivo 7 computer programme. Finally, it is seen that old teachers have chosen their occupations willingly and systematically but new ones have been doing them randomly and accidentally. Besides both new and old teachers have claimed that teachers should love their students, be a model for them in classes and come to class with a preliminary paper.
