Voltaire is one of the philosophers, such as Montesquieu, Diderot and Rousseau, who lived in the18th century, also called as the age of Enlightenment. He struggled against bias towards freedom, vulgar superstitions, political, social and economic instability, and iniquity. As a man of action, he became a good guide through his constructive suggestions, and he was also one of the thinkers who kindled the French Revolution in 1789.
Voltaire defended that the question of “How can a person be happy”, an essential principle of the 18th century, depends on the fact that social problems should be resolved and that suitable conditions should be provided.
