AVRUPALILARIN DOĞU TİCARETİ MÜCADELESİ: İNGİLİZ DOĞU HİNDİSTAN ŞİRKETİ´NİN KURULMASI

Year 2020, Volume: 44 Issue: 2, 101 - 126, 29.12.2020

Abstract

Bu çalışma İngilizlerin hissedarlı yapıya sahip Doğu Hindistan Şirketi´ni hangi şartlar altında kurduklarını, diğer Avrupalı devletler ile mücadelelerini ve ticari üsleri kurma aşamalarını konu almaktadır. Portekizlilerin Ümit Burnu üzerinden yeni doğu ticaret yolunu keşfi ile başlayan süreçte batılı ülkeler kalkınırken doğunun fakirleştiği ve işgale uğradığı yeni bir dönem başlamıştır. İngilizler ticari bir yarışa dönüşen doğu ticaretine geç başlamış olsalar da hissedarlı yapıya sahip özel teşebbüs şirketleri ile başarılı olmayı başarmıştır. Portekiz ve Hollandalıların onları Baharat adasından uzak tutma gayreti İngilizleri Hindistan´a yönlendirmiş ve ticari üsler kurulmasına sebep olmuştur.
