Hasan Özalp graduated his undergraduate education at the Faculty of Theology at Cumhuriyet University. Later, he completed his master's degree with a thesis titled "Mead in the Thought of Farabi and Ibn Sina" in the Department of Islamic Philosophy of the same university's Philosophy and Religious Sciences. He defended his doctorate in the field of Philosophy of Religion with a thesis titled "Reconciliation Approaches in the Relationship between Religion and Science" at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Sciences at Istanbul University. He became an associate professor in 2016 and a professor in 2021. Özalp has published books, book chapters, and published international and national articles and proceedings. He is interested in topics such as the relationship between religion and science, the history and philosophy of Islamic science, globalization and ethics, internet addiction and social media ethics, the culture of living together, faith and social peace.
